Explore Kodiak's spectacular beauty and wartime history during this scenic walk through a portion of the 183-acre Ft. Abercrombie State Park.
Depart the pier for the drive to the headquarters of Ft. Abercrombie State Park. Upon arrival, a park naturalist will lead you on a guided walking tour along well-maintained trails offering breathtaking ocean views. A variety of seabirds inhabit the park's coastline, and whale sightings are frequently reported in this area throughout the season.
During your walking tour, you will see numerous World War II bunkers from Kodiak's wartime past. Although some of the bunkers were designed for lookouts and others for storage, all are an important part of the history and growth of Kodiak.
Your walking tour will conclude back at park headquarters, where you will re-board your coach for the return drive to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves a 1.5-mile walk. Whale sightings are not guaranteed. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or guests who utilize a wheelchair.
