Combine the challenge of fly-fishing with a breathtaking flight to the heart of the Tongass National Forest during this scenic and memorable outdoor excursion.
Depart the pier with your guide for the scenic flight aboard a floatplane to a remote, wilderness stream or tidal estuary. Depending upon the time of year, you may pursue one of four varieties of Pacific salmon: Dolly Varden, cutthroat trout or steelhead.
Upon arrival, you will be outfitted with top-quality fly-fishing equipment, flies and waders, then begin fishing. Whether you are an experienced or novice angler, your guide will provide assistance throughout your fly-fishing session.
In addition to excellent fishing opportunities, wildlife sightings are common. As a conservation measure, fishing is conducted exclusively on a catch-and-release basis; therefore, processing will not be available on this tour. A snack, coffee and soft drinks are included.
Please note: Although prior fishing experience is not required, guests must be in good physical condition, able to hike one mile and wade in shallow water with light current to participate on this tour. Guests with back and/or neck problems, guests with limited mobility and guests who utilize a wheelchair will not be permitted on this tour. Alaska law requires a valid one-day fishing license, which can be purchased from your guide for $20 (cash only). Fly-fishing equipment, flies and waders will be provided. A minimum of three guests is required to operate this tour. This tour involves approximately 3 1/2 hours of fishing time. Guests are advised to bring insect repellent.
