Your journey begins with touring Skagway's historic downtown area filled with wooden boardwalks and false-fronted buildings as your driver/guide shares stories about the famous and foolhardy who lived in Skagway during the gold rush.

Travel by motorcoach 3,290 feet above sea level to the White Pass Summit, which runs parallel to the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad. As you travel along this route, your driver/guide recalls the hardships and daily life struggles of the stampeders. As you follow in the footsteps of early gold seekers, you'll view the historical areas of Brackett Wagon Road, Pitch Fork Falls, Dead Horse Gulch and the infamous Tormented Valley.

A stop will be made at the Yukon Suspension Bridge at Tutshi Canyon, Here, you can view interpretive displays detailing the history of the area and cross the suspension bridge located 57 feet above rushing rapids! On the return trip back into Skagway, you'll visit the Klondike Gold Fields where you'll meet a cast of costumed characters and have the chance to try your luck at finding your fortune. Learn the art of gold panning and practice your technique in warm-water troughs. Gold is guaranteed in every pan. Afterwards, haul your treasure to The Gold Shack, have it weighed and if you choose, transferred into a souvenir bezel at additional cost. Then sit down and enjoy a meal of Sweet Baby Ray BBQ Pork Ribs and choice of Grilled Salmon, Grilled Chicken or Grilled Halibut served with corn on the cob, Creamy homemade coleslaw, baked beans and bread sticks or corn bread as well as complimentary tea, coffee or water are also available.

Please note: This excursion enters Canada - all participants are required to carry a valid passport. Alaskan brewed micro-beer, Alaskan wine or homemade root beer is available for purchase. If you chose to stay longer at the Klondike Gold Fields a complimentary 5-minute shuttle runs every half hour back to your ship.
