Movie buffs will love this tour that takes you to the sites of various locations where movies have been filmed in Astoria.
Presented by Clatsop County Historical Society, this fun tour begins with a narrated 2 1/2 hour tour that will showcase more than 10 movie locations along with breathtaking views of the Columbia River.
In 1984, Goonies was the first major motion picture to be shot in Astoria. Following that, Astoria has been host to such films as Short Circuit, Benji, The Hunted, Come See the Paradise, Kindergarten Cop, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, Free Willy and The Ring 2.
You will soon find there's more to Astoria than meets the eye, as your expert tour guide reveals the best photo opportunities of the area along with giving you a good overview of Astoria's rich history. At the end of the tour, each participant will receive the "Shot in Astoria" Tour book and if you are a "Goonies" fan, you can even purchase some "Goonie" gear at the local Chamber of Commerce.
Please note: This tour includes a moderate amount of walking. It is not available to guests who utilize a wheelchair and those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Casual, weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable, flat walking shoes are suggested.
