The Willamette Valley is in the heart of Oregon wine country. Over half the wineries in Oregon are in the appellation. These wineries produce primarily Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Oregon Pinot is recognized as one of the premier productions in the world.
Your tour begins with a ride through the scenic Oregon Coast Mountain Range, with abundant greenery of all sorts as well as deer and elk. While on this tour you will sample a variety of Oregon cheeses as well as a blind comparative tasting of Oregon Pinot Gris. Your guide will also share information about their favorite wineries.
Upon entering the Willamette Valley, your first stop will be at the Montinore Estates winery which produces a classically Oregon wine variety that is certified organic. From Montinore it's on to the Solena winery further up the Yamhill Carlton District. This winery is known for its Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Lastly, you will visit Willakenzie winery. They are especially known for their Pinot productions.
You will enjoy private tastings along with a discussion of the wines produced at each winery.
After your picnic style lunch guests are invited to walk around the quaint town of Carlton, taking in the local shops or discovering nearby wineries tasting rooms which are within walking distance.
Please note: This tour includes over 4 hours of driving and approximately 2 1/2 hours of moderate walking. The tour is available to guests who utilize a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their way on and off the coach and have a companion to assist them. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. Casual, weather-appropriate clothing (jacket and umbrella) and comfortable, flat walking shoes are suggested.
