This tour is sure to fulfill all your desires for the ultimate adventure in Skagway! A scenic helicopter flight is combined with a train ride aboard the historic White Pass & Yukon Route Railway, and a breathtaking wilderness hike in the Tongass National Forest. This fully guided wilderness experience offers the perfect mix of adventure, exercise and unforgettable scenery. Your day begins with a helicopter flight over the Juneau Icefields, along the Sawtooth Mountain range and over Goat Lake, before landing at Glacier Station. After a brief orientation and gear grab, you'll be off on a four-mile roundtrip hike along the raging Skagway River to the viewpoint of the magnificent Laughton Glacier. This remote sub-Alpine valley offers wonderful views and an endless array of flora and fauna. Be on the lookout for moose, bears and mountain goats which call this valley home. Once back at the Wilderness Whistle Stop, board the "Scenic Railway of the World" for an approximate one-hour train ride back to Skagway. You'll treasure the variety, exhilaration, extraordinary beauty and companionship of this very special day in Skagway. Note: Participants must be at least 9 years of age and in good physical condition. This is a wilderness hike over uneven and sometimes difficult terrain. Hiking boots or shoes with ankle support are recommended. Rain gear, lumbar packs and trekking poles are provided. Flight time is approximately 15 minutes. Tour duration includes approximately three hours on the trail (4 to 5 miles). This tour is non-refundable. For all helicopter tours, participants who weigh 250 lbs. or more will pay a surcharge. Approximate weight of each participant must be provided. Time spent on the glacier is approximate and may vary due to weather and glacial conditions. Glacier boots are provided at the heliport.
