À La Carte Excursions | General Information
Add To Plan
Travel to great heights and absorb the stunning beauty of the Klondike as well as a delicious, all-you-can-eat Alaska-style feast. Set out on the scenic Klondike Highway, a historic passage that was once a trade route for the Tlingit people and a path to riches for gold-hungry stampeders. While you easily ascend to the 3,290-foot summit of the White Pass, hear the tales of hardship that earlier travelers endured in their quest to reach the interior. Breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, waterfalls and glaciers may be captured during photo stops. At the Yukon Suspension Bridge, fall under the spell of the churning Tutshi River and its stunning mountain backdrop. Experience this country with all your senses - breathe in the pristine air, listen to the roar of the raging river and thrill to the sensation of crossing a custom-built footbridge suspended 57 feet over the rapids. Come away with an appreciation of the area's unique human and natural history through museum-quality interpretive exhibits. After returning to Skagway satisfy your appetite with a hearty buffet at the Liarsville Cookhouse. Savor freshly grilled, wild Alaska salmon, baked chicken, a variety of salads, beans, rice pilaf, cornbread and dessert. Wander through the recreated gold rush trail camp to view the general store, saloon, bordello tents and relics from a bygone era.
