Enjoy an exhilarating time on this guided bike tour that focuses on the historical and geographical attractions of the nation's largest State Park that lies along the Columbia River.

Fort Stevens was the primary military defense installation in the "three fort" Harbor Defense System located at the mouth of the Columbia River - Fort Canby and Fort Columbia on the Washington side were the other two. This historic Fort served for 84 years, beginning with the Civil War and closing at the end of World War II.

Today, Fort Stevens State Park contains an eight-mile network of paved, mostly level bike paths. Your biking adventure begins with a safety briefing before setting off to see such sights as Battery Russell - which dates back to the early 20th century, and the viewing station that provides great panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Cape Disappointment Light House, situated along the Washington shoreline. Another attraction you will visit is the wreck of the English ship, the 'Peter Iredale' that ran aground in 1906.

Following a wonderful bike tour that has taken you through some breath-taking scenery such as majestic Douglas firs and coastal sea grass, you will enjoy some refreshments at the Fort Stevens Military Museum before transferring back to the pier.

Please note: This tour includes approximately 1-hour and 45-minutes of moderate to strenuous bike riding. It is not available to guests who utilize a wheelchair or those guests with mobility concerns. Participants should be in good physical condition. Casual, weather-appropriate clothing (raincoat and/or sweat shirt) and comfortable, closed-toe shoes are suggested. Tour operates rain or shine.
