Copenhagen has been the capital city of the kingdom of Denmark since 1417. Here, you will find that the modern developments of the 20th century have been blended with the older buildings and monuments to form a thriving and harmonious environment in the city. On this tour, which is an ideal introduction to the city, you will pass the main highlights within Copenhagen including the Town Hall Square, Tivoli Gardens, the Black Diamond, the New Carlsberg Glyptotek, the National Museum, the Christiansborg Castle - home of the Danish Parliament and the old Stock Exchange. You will also view the residence of the Royal Family, Amalienborg Palace, and the beautiful park, Amaliehaven, located at the seafront.
During the tour, a photo stop is made at The Little Mermaid - the diminutive statue which has become the world famous symbol of Copenhagen. In-between viewing the city's notable landmarks and highlights, there will be a stop at the famous Ice Bar. What a unique experience you will enjoy as you step into an environment where the walls, bar, tables, and even your own personal glass with a vodka cocktail, is made out of the purest ice, and the temperature never goes below minus 5 degrees.
Your last photo stop will be at the elegant and stately Rosenborg Castle before your coach returns you to the pier.
Please note: Although there is a limited amount of walking, the coach does make several photo stops. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. This tour is not recommended for children under 6 years of age because of the low temperature in the Ice Bar. Ponchos and gloves will be provided at the entrance to the bar, which only serves vodka. Flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested.
