This tour invites guests to discover one of Germany's most decorative castles. After a picturesque 90-minute drive, you'll arrive in Schwerin, the capital of Mecklenburg.
Upon arrival, you will first enjoy a relaxing lake cruise that takes you past the famous Schwerin Castle. Afterwards, a guided tour through this grand residence of the former Dukes of Mecklenburg will give visitors an insight into the ancestors and royalty of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania. While here, enjoy viewing the lovely painted oil canvasses and admire intricate wooden carvings and inlays in this truly fairy-tale castle museum.
Following your castle visit, you'll have some free time in the city center of Schwerin, either to browse for souvenirs or simply to sit back and relax while taking in a local specialty. During the drive back to the pier, take the opportunity to ask your guide about anything else that may be of interest, as the scenic rolling landscape passes by outside your window.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 3 hours of travel on a coach and over 1 hour of moderate walking at the castle with approximately 60 steps to negotiate. The tour is not recommended to wheelchair guests and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. Weather appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. It is suggested guests bring local currency as not all shops accept U.S. currency.
