Your motor coach delivers you to a kayaking center located in eastern Helsinki. Along the way, you will pass some of the city's landmarks, including Market Square, Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral and the Presidential Palace. You will also view the Finnish Icebreaker fleet docked for the summer.
On arrival at the center, you will be outfitted with the proper gear, receive a quick kayaking introduction, and then step into your stable and easy-to-handle kayak.
As you paddle through the peaceful archipelago, you will find it hard to believe that you are just a few miles from the city center. Spy the birdlife, enjoy the tranquility and learn about the fauna, flora and history of the Finnish archipelago.
On one of the islands, you will stop to stretch your legs and savor not only a snack, but also the surrounding scenery.
All too soon, it will be time to conclude your kayaking discovery. Paddling back to the kayaking center, board your motor coach and return to the pier and your ship.
