Sail your way through the picturesque Copenhagen Harbor - Taste your way through Danish Smoerrebroed - and visit the "Hidden Gem" - The Royal Café.

After a short transfer into town you will start your guided walking tour at the Royal Palace Amalienborg. The palace consists of four equal palaces surrounding the octagonal square. Many celebrations take place here - one of the biggest being the Queen's birthday in April, when the square is packed with people singing birthday songs and waving their flags while waiting to catch a glimpse of the Queen stepping out on the balcony.

The palace creates a line going from east to west. On the eastern end - on the other side of harbor, you will see the newly built Opera House - on the opposing side, the Marble Church, which holds one of the biggest domes in Europe; however, not to compete with St. Paul's.

Kings Square and Nyhavn lie side-by-side with Nyhavn being famous for its many restaurants, pubs and bars. On warm summer days it's a great place to go for a beer! Meanwhile, in the canal you will see many wooden ships, many of them lovingly restored.

Your walk along Stroeget - one of the longest pedestrian streets in the world, will bring you to the "Hidden Gem". It you didn't know the café was here, you would probably never find it, as it has been hidden away in one of the historical backyards on Amager Square - behind the Royal Porcelain factory store. Here, you will get the opportunity to taste the Danish Smoerrebroed; however, with a twist. Served as what the Danes call "Smushi", it consist of rye bread or other bread types topped with sliced beef, fish or other Danish specialties, just like the Danish "Smoerrebroed", just in smaller pieces. The "Smushi" will be served with either a glass of wine or a beer. Aside from the "Smushi", the Royal Café is an experience itself with its very artistic décor and it's small shop that sells funny and odd items plus cups, books, postcards, etc.

Leaving the café, it's a short walk over to the lively "Hoejbro Square", which is where many of the pedestrian streets in Copenhagen meet. From here, you will have beautiful views of Christiansborg - which houses the Royal Reception Rooms as well as the Danish Parliament. Then it's on to Gammel Strand where you will embark a Canal boat for a cruise through the Copenhagen Harbor as well as the Canals of Christianshavn. During the cruise you will see many of Copenhagen's famous buildings, such as the Old Stock Exchange, and The Black Diamond that houses the Royal Library. Further down the harbor, you will pass the newly built Opera House, right at the waterfront facing the Royal Palace. Before your boat tour concludes, you will also pass by Copenhagen's most well-known lady - The Little Mermaid. Following your boat tour, you'll be transferred directly back to the cruise ship pier.

Please note: This tour includes a significant amount of walking that includes cobblestone surfaces, inclines and steps. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. In the event of extremely high tide, the canal cruise might be re-routed. The tour may be operated in reverse order.
