Accompanied by our Bon Appétit Culinary Chef, you will visit a restored Estonian fishing village for a culinary workshop on fish and fish cookery from a local fish expert. Then travel to Upper Old Town Tallinn for a short guided tour. Visit one of the panoramic viewpoints. After visiting the viewpoint, there is an option to walk to Lower Old Town on your own, or to stay with the guide for short guided tour of the Lower Town. Your final stop is Scheeli Panga Kohvik (Bank Café) for a taste of traditional Estonian cake and Vana Tallinn, the famous liquor of the area and Honey Beer. Later, return to the ship for a cooking class in the Bon Appétit Culinary center.

You will meet your Chef in the Bon Appétit Culinary Center for an overview of today's tour and an introduction to Estonian cuisine. Then you will board your motor coach for the short drive to the picturesque seaside village of Pringi and the Viimsi Open Air Museum. An historical fishing conclave, located on the former tenant Kingu farmyard, is the site of our fishing workshop. Surrounded by authentically reconstructed fishing sheds, boat hoists and drying racks, you'll learn about the various species of Baltic fishes and how to prepare them for cooking from a local Estonian fishing expert. In this casual and authentic setting, you will also enjoy a tasting of the fish dishes prepared, accompanied by some local wine.

Following your tour of the Upper Old Town, you will have an option to wander on the narrow cobbled streets by yourself and meet up with others in the lower town, or stay with your guide and have a short walking tour of the lower town. The chef will provide you with a few suggestions for local culinary specialties such as jams, pirukad pastries and black pudding which you may find in any number of shops in the area. You will meet with your chef and guide at the Scheeli Panga Kohvik (or Bank Café) in the heart of Tallinn's Old Town. Indulge yourself in a taste of traditional Estonian cake with the famous Vana Tallinn herbal liquor at the café and taste some local honey beer.

After visiting the Bank Café , you will rejoin your coach and transfer back to the ship where after a short respite, you will return to the Bon Appétit Culinary Center for a private 60-minute class on fish cookery. Recipes from the morning's workshop, as well as new recipes on fish cookery techniques, will be provided so you can repeat these healthy and flavorful fish recipes at home.

Please note: This tour includes just approximately 2-hours of easy to moderate walking. There may be some uneven surfaces and steps to negotiate. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The noted tour duration is approximate and includes your classroom session aboard the ship.
