This tour includes most of the highlights of Helsinki, a visit to Porvoo and the Savijarvi Farm, where lunch will be served.
Leaving the harbor, you will pass Embassy Park, Market Square, Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral and the Presidential Palace. You will make a stop at the Senate Square to explore and shop at the open-air market. Then you will continue past Kiasma, the Parliament House, National Museum, Finlandia Hall, Opera House and historic stadium that hosted the 1952 Olympics.
Then, departing Helsinki, you will drive towards Sipoo and Savijarvi farm, a family-operated horse-breeding farm. The family will offer a warm welcome, openly discuss their way of life, and show you their horses. Following the tour, you'll enjoy a three-course meal with fish as the entrée.
After lunch, you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Porvoo, the second oldest town in Finland, which was founded in 1346. You will also have an opportunity to explore on your own, walking the cobblestone streets and stopping for photos at the Old Bridge of Porvoo.
On the way back to the ship, you will stop at the Rock Church, a Helsinki landmark carved out of solid rock and topped with a copper dome, and pass the Helsinki shipyards.
Important Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.5 mile over even and cobblestone surfaces with some inclines and steps. Tour sequence may vary in order to avoid congestion. The Temppeliaukio Rock Church sometimes holds religious functions, so it is not guaranteed that it will be open during all calls. There is approximately 1 hour of free time in Porvoo.
