Discover why Sweden's west coast is renowned for its abundance of seafood during this relaxing fishing excursion in the teeming waters of the Kattegatt Sea.
Depart the pier for the brief transfer to the marina, where you will board a comfortable, fully-equipped fishing boat. After cruising past Ekeskären, a well-known local seal colony, you will proceed to the mackerel fishing holes located off Vinga Island. A popular delicacy in Sweden, the mackerel found in the big shoals outside Gothenburg can grow up to 1.5 feet in length. This area is also rich in marine life that includes cod, catfish, lobster and prawns.
Following your first fishing session, your boat will proceed to the lighthouse island of Vinga, Gothenburg's most westerly locale. Here, your boat will be refueled while you eat a light lunch and take in the natural beauty of the island. After lunch, you will re-board the boat for another fishing session.
At the conclusion of your tour, you will be returned to the pier.
Please note: Equipment, bait, tackle, rain gear, light snacks, and beverages will be provided. Each boat will accommodate up to ten guests, and is furnished with a restroom. This tour includes approximately 3 hours of actual fishing time. Rubber-soled or deck shoes must be worn on the boat. Guests are encouraged to bring a windbreaker, and dress warmly in layers.
