This tour will give you a great chance to become familiar with the diversity of architectural styles in Riga.

The tour will start in the Old Town of Riga, where the architecture of medieval times and that of the 17th-19th centuries dominate. Beyond the Old Town you will drive along the boulevards of Riga, enjoying the views of impressive Art Nouveau architecture from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Because of its rich heritage, Riga is considered a metropolis of Art Nouveau.

During the bus ride you will pass by some of the architectural highlights of Riga - the Latvian National Opera, the Freedom Monument and the Russian Orthodox Cathedral, as well as other remarkable public and private buildings. The tour will end with a visit to the Riga Bourse Museum. The exposition will take you through the history of Latvian fine art from the mid 18th century up to 1945. You will be able to view the masterpieces of famous Latvian painters such as Rozentals, Purvitis, Padegs and many more. Don't miss the permanent exhibition of paintings by the famous Russian painter and philosopher Nicholas Roerich.

Please note: This tour involves approximate 2 hours of walking - at times over cobblestone surfaces; the visit to the Art museum involves approximately 40 steps. The order of sites visited may vary. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. This tour is not suitable for wheelchair guests. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina.

Mondays the Art Museum (Riga Bourse) is closed. Therefore, the Latvian State Museum of Art will be visited instead.
