Copenhagen - the capital city of the kingdom of Denmark since 1417 - is a city in which the modern developments of the 20th century have been blended with the older buildings and monuments to form a thriving and harmonious environment.
During your panoramic coach tour you'll pass Copenhagen's main highlights, including the Town Hall Square, Tivoli Gardens, the New Carlsberg Glyptoteque, the National Museum, the Christiansborg Palace, home of the Danish parliament, the old Stock Exchange and the residence of the Royal Family - Amalienborg Palace. Photo stops will be made at the site of the Little Mermaid as well as at Amalienborg Palace.
Following your panoramic drive through the city, you'll make your way to the beautiful Royal Danish Theater. Everyone should at some time visit The Royal Theater. The building is indeed old, but is filled with atmosphere. It is thrilling to think that many of the historically famous people you have read about, have at one time this venerable theater on King's Square.
The Royal Danish Theater is both the national Danish performing arts institution and a name used to refer to its old purpose-built venue from 1874 that was located on Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen. The theater was founded in 1748, first serving as the theater of the king, and then as the theater of the country. The theater presents opera, the Royal Danish Ballet, classical music concerts (by the Royal Danish Orchestra, which dates back to 1448), and drama in several locations. Upon arrival, you will have a guided tour which ends with a look into the main stage (if no rehearsals are going on). Afterwards, you'll rejoin your coach and return to the pier.
