Pre-Cruise Land Tours

PRE - ICONS OF THE BIG APPLE

PRE - ICONS OF THE BIG APPLE

*Note: Your arrival flight should land in New York no later than 3:00pm in order to allow for transfers to the hotel and check-in before your evening tour which begins at 7:00pm.

Explore the undisputed icons of New York City on private tours, a harbor cruise and on highly accommodating double-decker buses that allow you to "hop on and hop off" wherever you wish.

DAY 1

Upon flying into either New York's John F Kennedy Airport, Newark Airport or La Guardia Airport, you will be met and transferred to the InterContinental New York Times Square hotel, a refreshing sanctuary within walking distance of the Broadway theater district, extraordinary shopping and fabulous restaurants. Depending on your arrival time, you may have some free time during the day to explore the city on your own before checking into the hotel.

Early in the evening, you will be picked up at the hotel for a highly entertaining tour of Harlem and its vital role in the history of jazz beginning in the 1920s. In its heyday, Harlem was home to more than 400 nightclubs and all the legends played and sang there, including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.

The highlight of the evening is a live jazz dinner show at a Harlem nightclub that re-creates the experience of the Harlem in its most exciting musical period.

Afterwards, you will return to the hotel for the evening.

DAY 2

Following a full American breakfast at the hotel, you will have the entire day at leisure to explore the Big Apple at your own pace. So that you can easily get around from landmark to landmark, you will enjoy unlimited access to the double-decker buses on the "City Sights New York All Around Town Tour".

Just hop on and hop off wherever you please. The buses travel throughout New York City and stop at more than 40 locations, presenting icons such as Ground Zero and the Statue of Liberty. Stop at the Empire State Building and you will enjoy free entrance to the Observation Deck on the 86th floor for a spectacular panoramic view of Manhattan. The tour also includes a 90-minute harbor cruise that you can join whenever you please and tickets to the Museum of the City of New York.

After a full day of sightseeing completely on your own schedule, you can return to the hotel at your leisure.

DAY 3

After a full American breakfast at the hotel, you will transfer to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) accompanied by a guide. Prior to the museum opening to the general public, an art historian will give you a private VIP tour of the exhibits, after which you can browse further on your own. MoMA's collections are absolutely stunning and include important works from the world's greatest and most innovative modern artists.

Following your visit, you will transfer to the cruise terminal in Manhattan and embark the ship.

Land Program Step by Step: The order of sites visited may vary to avoid congestion. The times indicated are approximate, given here only for general reference, and are subject to change.
