Nature lovers will enjoy this tour as you discover the rich diversity of the wetland bird life and unspoiled low-growth caducifolia jungle beauty that are found along the trails of the Copalita River.
Traveling from the pier, it's a short transfer to the botanical park where you'll begin experiencing the amazing flora and fauna of this region that's tucked within its precious woods. Rich with wildlife, such as iguanas and deer, the area is also the natural habitat of over 227 species of birds, including 20 varieties of hummingbirds.
Before starting off, you'll receive a souvenir list of birds that comes complete with a color print of the 25 most likely seen species. Along the way, your knowledgeable guide will provide you with a comprehensive explanation of the area's ecology, wildlife and points of interest, along with helping you spot bashful residents hiding in the foliage. Observation stops are included during your walk as well as a refreshment break.
After approximately 2 1/2 hours, you'll have made your way back to the start where your transportation awaits to transport you back to the pier.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 2 miles of moderate walking - at times over natural sand and soil surfaces that can be uneven. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and is not recommended for those guests with mobility concerns. Long-sleeved shirts, long pants, hats, insect repellant and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Don't forget your binoculars! While wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, n order to maximize your chances of spotting as many birds as possible, your guide may at their discretion, modify the tour's itinerary.
