Take a short transfer from the pier to the Unimog Center where you will climb aboard one of these Mercedes all-terrain vehicles for your one-hour trek to the private canopy reserve that is set high in the remote and verdant wilderness of the Sierra Madre Mountains. It is here, in this dense tropical setting, that your zip line adventure will begin.
Safety is top priority and your guide has been extensively trained and the equipment is the best to be found (Petzl), with not one, but two safety cables for your security (the site has been certified by the ACCT). After receiving a complete safety briefing and being fitted with your harness and safety equipment, you will take off on the ride of a lifetime. Feel the rush of adrenaline pump through your veins as you whoosh from platform to platform, 90 feet above the rainforest floor. A series of 8 thrilling zip lines gives you maximum opportunity to marvel at the stunning, lush setting as you effortlessly traverse above huge tropical trees, wild orchids and a diversity of native birds and reptiles. Adding to the experience, a hanging bridge built into the treetops is reminiscent of Tarzan and there is even a gorilla swing for you to try. An incredible rappel descent to solid ground completes your breathtaking adventure.
Returning to base camp, you will be treated to a light snack and have an opportunity to purchase souvenirs or photos of your zip-line experience (cash only). Following your rest time, you will re-board your Unimog and make your way back to Puerto Vallarta and your waiting ship.
Please note: This is a high adrenaline tour and the Unimog travels over rough and bumpy trails to reach base camp. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests, those with mobility concerns, heart problems, balance issues, asthma, epilepsy, recent back or neck injuries, or pregnant women. Guests should be in good physical condition. The height to participate must be over 4 feet, and the minimum age is 10 years old. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The maximum allowable weight is 250 lbs. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and insect repellent are suggested. For safety reasons, cameras are not permitted on the zip line, but lockers are provided free of charge. Guests may be asked to sign a release form before being allowed to take part in the tour.
