Release your inner adventurer on this exhilarating tour through a forest canopy, zipping from platform to platform along a circuit of double cables in the treetops.
Depart from the pier in a motor coach and head inland, where the surrounding forest will soon envelop you. The natural beauty of the Dominican wilderness is absolutely spectacular. Upon arriving at Canopy Cumayasa, you'll receive a detailed orientation on how best to zip along the cables while seated for ease and comfort. Then, put on your harness and take off on your canopy adventure through the towering treetops.
Riding along the circuit of double cables and double pulleys, you'll zip from station to station, traveling above the forest floor for more than a half-mile. There are 13 platforms in all, so you'll have plenty of opportunity to stop and take in the sprawling wilderness. The canopy platforms were designed to be minimally intrusive and in many cases mold around the contour of the trees for stability and a more natural appearance. Along the way, you'll catch glimpses of the winding Cumayasa River below.
At the last platform near the river, you'll be treated to fresh fruit and a cold bottle of water (Sodas, rum and beer are available for purchase) as you share the excitement of your experience with the other adventurers. Then, after some free time to explore, you'll transfer back to the pier.
