The ideal tour for guests seeking a brief, yet adventurous outing, this kayaking excursion takes you along the serene waters of the densely vegetated Chavón River.
A short transfer from the pier brings you to the enchanted grounds of luxurious Casa de Campo. The resort sprawls over 7,000 tropical acres punctuated by legendary golf courses, stately homes, fine restaurants and exquisite shops. The diversions are seemingly endless, and kayaking is definitely one of the resort's most popular recreational activities.
Arriving at the Chavón River, which borders magnificent Casa de Campo and flows into the Caribbean Sea, you'll receive a safety briefing and then ease into a single or two-person kayak and begin paddling the tranquil waters. This is the Dominican countryside at its very best. Natural beauty and dense vegetation dominate the expansive river valley. In fact, the setting is so dramatic that the Chavón River has doubled for other jungle-like locales such as Vietnam in the war epic "Apocalypse Now." Still, there are signs of luxury; especially high above where you can see the breathtaking artists' village of Altos de Chavron perched atop a cliff.
After approximately 1-hour of paddling, you'll come ashore and enjoy some refreshments before it's time to drive back to the pier.
