Explore Roatan's coral reefs using Snuba, an easy and safe way to enjoy the wonders of the underwater world.
It's a 45-minute transfer from the pier to the beautiful beach at Gumbalimba Park. Upon arrival, you will sign your liability waiver (required) and be given an orientation. Then it's time to receive your equipment and safety briefing. No prior snorkeling experience is necessary on this tour as you simply breathe through a scuba regulator that is connected to an air tank. This gives you the benefit of being able to stay under water as long as you want, having the flexibility to stay at any depth you feel comfortable with (maximum depth is 20 feet) and the ability to come to the surface whenever you want.
Your guide will give you instructions in shallow water where you can either stand or sit. Afterwards, you'll be able to snuba in the designated trail which is about 50 yards of sea grass and where you can often see starfish, rays, octopus and juvenile fish. Beyond the sea grass, you'll find the coral reef with its spectrum of colorful tropical fish.
Following approximately 40-minutes in the water, you'll return to shore where you will have a short break to relax on the sand or purchase a photo of your experience before transferring back to the pier.
Please note: Activity on this tour can range from moderate to strenuous and guests should be in good physical condition. Minimum age to participate is 8 years old and children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. Those participating in any water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility.
