Delight in the natural wonders of northern Honduras by walking through a nature park and admiring its orchards, botanical gardens and animal habitats.
After a short walk from the pier, you will drive to Campo del Mar Nature Park, a wonderfully serene setting full of indigenous vegetation and wildlife. Following an enlightening introduction to the park and its history, you will walk through a flourishing fruit orchard. Depending on what’s ripe and at the peak of its flavor, you will then sample a selection of succulent seasonal fruit.
Tropical flowers and exotic plants also thrive in the park’s fertile soil, as you will see by continuing on into the botanical gardens. Expect it to be a riot of bright colors and enticing fragrances, interspersed with clever displays created by local artisans. Finally, you will have the opportunity to wander through the park’s animal habitats, where you may see different species of monkeys and tropical birds such as Amazon parrots and scarlet macaws.
Then, after a bit of free time to explore further, you will return to the pier.
