A favorite of nature lovers, this remarkable tour showcases Tortola's scenic beauty with a hike through a forest and then time spent on one of the island's most glorious beaches.

Depart from the pier in an open-air safari bus for a meandering drive inland and upward to verdant Sage Mountain National Park. Established in 1964, the park supports many of the island's rare and endangered species, especially those that thrive at higher elevations, as most of the park is at least 1000 feet above sea level. In fact, at 1,780 feet, Sage Mountain stands as the highest point in both the British and U.S. Virgin Islands. Upon arrival, join your guide for a pleasant hike in which you may see towering bullet wood trees, the oddly named but scentless stinking fish trees and mourning doves, the national bird of Tortola. You will also be treated to spectacular vistas and an informative narrative about the flora and fauna found in the Park.

Following your hike, you'll re-board your safari bus and continue on to popular Cane Garden Bay, which lies on the northern shore. Its stunningly beautiful setting attracts yachters, sunbathers, water sports enthusiasts and even horseback riders. During your time in Cane Garden Bay, you're free to do whatever you please. Take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear sea, lounge about in the shade of a palm, wander along the shoreline or linger over a tropical beverage at a beachfront bar. The mood is definitely carefree and relaxing. In time, you'll rejoin your safari bus and drive back to the pier totally refreshed.

Please note: There is approximately 1-mile of hiking on this tour, at times over steep and uneven terrain. There are sandy surfaces to negotiate at Cane Garden Bay. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Participants should be in good physical condition. Bathing suits should be worn under clothing or a cover-up and guests should bring their own towel. Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended. Changing facilities, showers and food venues are available at Cane Garden Bay. Guests taking part in any water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility.
