Explore one of the most scenic and interesting areas on the South Aegean Sea during this full-day tour that includes a Dalyan River journey and visit to the ancient city of Caunos.
Traveling from the pier, it's a 75-minute drive to Dalyan, located on the east bank of the Dalyan River, which flows down from Koycegiz Lake to the Aegean Sea. Upon arrival, you will embark a local boat for a leisurely cruise on the river, stopping along the way for at the rock tombs where you may take some photos. From here, you will cruise to the western bank of the river, where you will disembark your boat for a visit to the ancient city of Caunos. During your time here, you will see the Hellenistic Fortification remains that include a tower and gateway on Acropolis Hill, rock-cut Lycian Tombs, a Hellenistic stoa, fountain house, palaestra, theater, Byzantine church and terrace temple.
Following your visit, you will reembark the boat and proceed to a local restaurant where you will be treated to a lunch of local specialties. En route, you will have the opportunity to see Iztuzu Beach, which has been made into a protected breeding ground for caretta, the loggerhead turtle.
At the conclusion of your lunch, you will reboard your coach for the return drive to the pier.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 1-hour of moderate walking and the boat ride lasts for approximately 1.25 hours. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing, comfortable walking shoes, hat and sunglasses are recommended. There are no restrooms available onboard the boat.
