Enjoy a wonderful overview of some of the area's most notable sights on this mostly panoramic tour.
Your first stop on the tour is one of region's most revered religious sights - the possible remains of the House of Virgin Mary. Ancient records state that St. John the Apostle brought the Virgin Mary to Ephesus after the death of Christ and that she spent her last days in a small house. The dating of articles found at the site lends credence to the belief that the Virgin Mary indeed lived here.
As your driving tour continues, you will pass the Grand Theater of Ephesus and the remnants of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. In the distance, you will see Seljuk Castle on Ayasuluk Hill and the lovely Selcuk Town.
Upon arriving in the quaint village of Sirince, which reflects a perfect synthesis of Turkish and Greek culture, you will have time to stroll through the narrow streets at your leisure. You will have the same opportunity when you arrive back in Kusadasi, or you can attend an informative carpet demonstration that shows the fine craftsmanship behind these luxurious items.
Please note: This tour is primarily panoramic in nature with limited optional walking at the stops. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Weather appropriate clothing; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable shoes are recommended.
