Behold the idyllic, centuries-old beauty of Mykonos during this picturesque island tour, and a visit to a 16th century monastery.
Depart the pier for the 30-minute drive by coach towards the beach of Agios Ioannis. Along the way, you will take in splendid views of the island of Delos, and pass the luxury hotels, tavernas and yachts anchored off Ornos Beach. After a brief photo stop at Agios Ioannis, you will pass the beaches of Kalafatis and Agia Anna en route to the traditional village of Ano Mera. Upon arrival, you will take a guided walking tour of the nearby 16th-century Panagia Tourliani Monastery before proceeding to the peaceful village square for some Greek appetizers and ouzo.
Next, you will visit the town of Mykonos, named Little Venice due to its striking resemblance in design to the famous canal city. Upon arrival, you will take a guided walking tour along its narrow whitewashed streets. A stop will be made at a traditional, 15th-century bakery that is still in operation, and one of the few bakeries in Greece still using wood-burning ovens. You will also see the island's trademark windmills, white houses and churches, and beautiful bays and beaches.
Following your tour, you may choose to reboard your coach for the return drive to the pier, or remain in town and return to the ship independently by taxi (not included) or on foot.
