This exhilarating outdoor excursion includes fording rivers, driving through a tropical rainforest, and stopping at the picture-perfect Coeur Bouliki River.
Climbing aboard your comfortable, air-conditioned Jeep at the pier, you will head off to the St. Joseph area, passing several banana plantations, crossing a few shallow rivers and traveling deep into the luxuriant La Palourde rainforest. Adventure truly lies around every corner.
Here, green comes in a thousand different shades and the forest resembles a wild botanical garden. Chances are, you will see exotic hardwoods, endemic palms, clusters of fragrant orchids, and thousands of plants rarely found elsewhere. The beauty is extraordinary, the serenity absolutely overwhelming.
Continuing on, you will enter a more agricultural region, dotted with banana and sugar cane plantations, two of Martinique's most important cash crops. While the landscape is certainly different than that in the rainforest, it's no less lush, green or peaceful. You will stop to take in the beauty of the Coeur Bouliki River.
Heading back to the ship, the route will also be quite scenic, offering picturesque views of the sparkling bay.
