This tour travels by coach to the summit of Mt. Wellington, where you will be afforded some outstanding views of the city and Tasmania's southeast coast in the distance. A brief opportunity to take some photos is provided before continuing on to the Rosny Hill lookout for a second photo stop. The spectacular sweeping views of the city, the Derwent River, the harbor, and Nautica from this location will make for some additional treasured memories.
Descending back into the city, a visit will be made to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Time is allotted for you to take a leisurely stroll about the tranquil, well-manicured grounds. Established in 1818 at an Aboriginal site on the Derwent River, the Gardens feature historic plant collections, 19th-century trees and native Tasmanian species.
Before returning to the ship, you will be treated to a drive past some of Hobart's most memorable sights, which include Salamanca Place, the historic warehouse district which is now home to trendy shops, boutiques, and restaurants; and Battery Point, with its elegant 19th-century mansions and quaint cottages. Your return route also brings you by Australia's oldest brewery, the Cascade Brewery.
Please note: The order of sights visited may vary and the itinerary may be reversed. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. This tour does not operate with a separate guide, but rather with a driver/guide.
