Kuala Lumpur is often referred to as the Garden City because of its abundance of greenery and beautifully landscaped parks and colorful gardens that have enchanted nature lovers for years. Visitors always come away impressed with the city's lovely tree-shaded streets that are decoratively lined with ornamental plants, shrubs and flowers.
Your tour starts by passing through several new industrial developments as you head to your first stop at the Lake Gardens, the city's most popular park. This 226 acre park is built around a man-made lake and is home to lush vegetation that includes well-manicured lawns, flowering shrubs, leafy green trees and some excellent botanical gardens. Your visit takes you to the wonderful Orchid and Hibiscus gardens where you can find exotic species of each of these flowers and many colorful varieties of Hibiscus, the national flower. A short distance away is the equally amazing Butterfly Park. Here, the tropical rainforest environment is home to over 6,000 whimsical butterflies that will delight you as they flit from flower to flower. Included is a visit to the butterfly nursery and breeding area.
Re-boarding your coach, you'll travel past the Parliament House and Islamic Arts Museum before arriving at Independence Square. Important events such as the Independence Day and New Year's celebrations are held here on what was once the former playing field of the Royal Selangor Club. After taking some time for photos, you'll be transferred to a local restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch.
Your afternoon brings you to the magnificent and world renowned Petronas Twin Towers, the world's tallest twin buildings. Following your photo stop at the Towers, you will have approximately one hour of free time at the Suria KLCC, a modern six-level shopping mall. Here, you can either sit and relax or shop for mementos in the vast array of retail shops available. At the designated time and location, you will rejoin your coach for the return trip back to the ship.
