Boarding your coach at the pier, you will first be treated to a brief tour of Brisbane's highlights before leaving the city behind and traveling along winding roads to the base of Lamington National Park and the beautiful surroundings of the Gold Coast hinterland.
A picturesque drive through the lush countryside brings you to your first stop, the Rainforest Skywalk and Eco Discovery Centre. Upon arrival you will have free time to explore the center and gallery and choose from a variety of walks through the luscious rainforest. Begin the adventure on a spectacular elevated walkway through the beautiful middle and upper canopies of the rainforest. The walkway is a stable, high-tech steel structure enabling you to explore these canopies in a safe and secure way. It descends gradually to the lower canopy and follows points of interest that include rock pools and waterfalls, a butterfly lookout and local history enclosure. There will be sheltered rest areas along the way until reaching the amazing Cantilever, a 131 ft. long span that soars 98 feet above the valley, with spectacular views over the creek and the rainforest canopies below. Finally, the walk returns along the rainforest floor to the Center.
Next up is a visit to St. Bernard's, one of the most popular and historic pubs in the area. Boasting an absolutely spectacular view over the valley, take in the beautiful sights of the rainforest before being treated to lunch at the pub. Don't look for starched linen tablecloths at this establishment. This is truly an authentic Aussie Pub, full of old-world charm and hospitality, where diners have the opportunity to relax and enjoy one another's company in a casual, laid-back atmosphere.
Following lunch, you will transfer a short distance to Gallery Walk at Eagle Heights. This famous artistic center boasts a variety of craft shops and galleries, as well as numerous cafés and food stall where you can purchase a tasty treat or refreshment. Whether you are looking for a special gift or something unique to take home as a memento, you'll no doubt find it here in one of the delightful shops. From here, your coach will next make its way to a local winery for a wine tasting.
Included in your tour is the amazing scenery of Tamborine Mountain. This area is home to seven National Parks, totaling over 900 acres. Marvel at the Macrozamia Palms towering overhead and the verdant green valleys unfolding before you, as you wind your way through a landscape dotted with farms and quaint tea houses. As you travel through this magnificent National Parks region, you will be afforded spectacular panoramic views of the Gold Coast and brilliant blue Pacific Ocean. Following a full day of remarkable scenery and memorable experiences, sit back and relax in the comfort of your coach as you make your return to Brisbane via the modern Gold Coast Freeway.
