Your jeep adventure begins with a drive through the parish of St. George and continues on through the center of the Island to two of its beautiful natural wonders.
Boarding your land rover jeep at the pier, you will first travel along Tanteen Main Road and then up Lowthers Lane, viewing the town's landmarks before stopping at the Government House Roundabout for a for a photo opportunity.
Leaving St. George behind, it's a scenic drive to the Clabony Sulphur Pond, via the Grand Etang National Park. Upon arrival, you will embark on a 15-minute hike to the pond where you will then have time to swim in the relaxing warm waters of this sulphur pond and natural spring. Local legends tell of its healing and soothing powers and some are even convinced of its positive effects on the aging process. Surrounded by the sounds and smells of nature, chirping birds, the running waters of the streams and the aroma of the surrounding nutmeg trees, you can't help but understand the therapeutic benefits of the warm waters and ambiance this serene setting provides. After approximately 30-45 minutes, you'll return to your jeep and continue on to your next destination, Grand Etang Crater Lake.
Located in one of the Island's National Park Reserves, this mystical lake was once a volcano. Today, the remaining extinct crater makes for a perfect setting for photos as you relax and enjoy refreshments in the cool environs of the rainforest.
Please note: This tour involves approximately 15-20 minutes of hiking, at times over some rough and uneven natural terrain. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests, those guests with mobility concerns, pregnant women or those persons suffering with back problems. Lightweight clothing, flat, comfortable walking shoes, sun cap, sunglasses, sunscreen and insect repellant are suggested. Those wishing to swim should wear swimwear under their clothing and bring a towel. Guests taking part in any water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility. All guests will be required to sign a liability waiver before being allowed to take part in the tour. No one under 18 years of age is permitted to consume alcohol.
