Celebrate Nova Scotia's renowned brewing history during this memorable visit to the Atlantic Beer Institute, Alexander Keith's Nova Scotia Brewery and the Stag Head's Inn.
Depart the pier on-foot for a guided visit to a pair of Halifax's finest brewing institutions. Your first stop will be a visit to the Atlantic Beer Institute. Located just minutes from the pier, the Atlantic Beer Institute is the first of its kind in Atlantic Canada. During your visit, you will take an in-depth look at the history of one of the world's oldest beverages, and the process by which local experts brew this popular libation. You will also be given the opportunity to sample premium beers from Belgium, North America and the U.K., as you brush-up on the pouring and handling techniques designed to significantly enhance the look and flavor of your favorite lager.
Next, you will take a step back in time for a visit to one of North America's oldest working breweries, Alexander Keith's Nova Scotia Brewery. Led by a host clad in traditional garb, you will be treated to a rare glimpse of how this ale is brewed before completing your Bachelor of Beer Arts (BBA) degree with a song or two, and a nip of Mr. Keith's finest ale at the Stag's Head Inn.
Following your tour, you will return to the pier.
Please note: This tour involves approximately 1-hour of casual walking/standing.
