Along with our Bon Appétit Culinary Center Chef, select fresh herbs from the garden and enjoy a wine tasting at an esteemed vineyard, where you'll later dine on a delicious meal made from the ingredients collected at the market. Topping the day off is a stop at a cheese factory.
Accompanied our Bon Appétit Culinary Center Chef and the head chef from Craggy Range vineyard, you'll make your way to the charming Craggy Range Vineyard. Protected from the wind by craggy Te Mata peak, the vineyard also contains a garden, which you'll walk through, picking herbs to add to your lunch ingredients. A representative from Firstlight Foods will then join your group to talk about the company's meat products, which come from 100% grass-fed, free-range animals.
Next, move into the tasting room to enjoy some of Craggy ranges finest wines before taking your place in the Terroir restaurant where you will settle in for a delicious lunch that has incorporated the herbs chosen earlier in the garden. No doubt you'll be able to taste the difference that fresh ingredients make in the savory food that has been prepared for you.
Leaving Craggy Range, your final stop is at Origin Cheeses, where local cheeses are made from a small flock of East Freisian sheep located approximately 30 miles away from the factory. Their suppliers all farm based upon the biological soil management principles on which Origin Earth is based. During your visit you will be given a demonstration on how mozzarella is made which will include a tasting as you watch the process. Following this enlightening experience, you will re-board your coach for the transfer back to the pier.
