Oceania Exclusive Tour

For those travelers who prefer an added measure of intimacy and flexibility, we are pleased to offer our new Oceania Exclusive tours. With a minimum of 10 guests and a maximum capacity of just 16 guests, each tour benefits from a higher level of personal attention and the added flexibility and agility that come from traveling in a small group.

Oceania Exclusive tours are available for a specially selected number of tours in almost every port we visit, in every corner of the world.

Discover the vibrant city of Dublin on this tour that gives you a panoramic overview of many of its notable landmarks and visits two of its most beloved attractions.

Dublin is the capital of the Irish Republic and Ireland's principal port. Dublin Bay, with its great sweep of coast from the rocky brow of Howth in the north to the headland of Dalkey in the south, is a fitting introduction to one of Europe's finest capitals. In addition to its splendid public buildings, Dublin is particularly rich in domestic architecture of the 18th Century. Fine Georgian mansions, many of them with historical associations, lend sober beauty to the city's wide streets and spacious squares.

Departing from the pier, you will soon pass The Customs House, located on the north bank of the River Liffey. It was designed by James Gandon and completed in 1791.Crossing the River Liffey to Dublin's south side, you will next pass The Old Parliament House, now the Bank of Ireland, and Trinity College, founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I. Over 400 years old, Trinity is Ireland's oldest college and is located in a prime 40-acre city center site. Located in the Library is the world famous Book of Kells, a hand illuminated manuscript of the Gospels. A stop will be made for you to view this world-renowned treasure, which lies deep within the walls of this historic building.

Your tour of the city will then continue, passing the Georgian squares of Merrion and Fitzwilliam, the National Gallery of Ireland, Government Buildings and St. Stephen's Green. On Dawson Street, you can view The Mansion House, residence of Dublin's Lord Mayor. Traveling on, you will also pass Dublin Castle, City Hall and Christchurch Cathedral en route to visit St. Patrick's Cathedral. Founded in 1190, St. Patrick's is perhaps best known for its association with Jonathan Swift, who was Dean here from 1713 to 1745. The pulpit from which he preached is still to be seen.

Following your visit at St. Patrick's, you will make your way to the north side of Dublin's River Liffey where you will pass the Four Courts, Ireland's courts of justice. The north side boasts the wide boulevard of O'Connell Street and here you will also see the General Post Office, scene of the 1916 rising and birthplace of the Irish nation.

After seeing these Dublin highlights, your coach will make its way back to the pier where your tour concludes.

Please note: This tour includes approximately 1 1/2 hours of walking and standing with some steps to negotiate at Trinity College and the Cathedral. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheechair, are able to make their way on and off the coach and who are accompanied by a companion. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested. Guests should be prepared for the possibility of rain. The order of sites visited may vary.
