This compact tour serves to acquaint you with the island's main points of interest in a short amount of time.
Traveling from the pier, you will enjoy a drive around this delightful island which is also referred to as the perfume island due to the wonderful Ylang-Ylang trees that grow here. The oil from the flowers of the Ylang-Ylang tree are extracted and used in the making of perfumes and lotions. During your tour, a stop will be made at a Ylang-Ylang distillery where you can observe this process in action.
During your tour around the island, you will travel through Hell Ville and also view the island's sugar fields, fruit and spice plantations. A drive up Mont Passot affords you with marvelous views of the twin lakes of Sakatia Island.
Finally, you will make your way back to the port where your tour concludes.
Please note: This tour includes a limited amount of walking, mainly at the guests' discretion during stops. The tour is available to wheelchair guests with a collapsible wheelchair who are able to make their own way on and off the bus and have a companion to assist them. As space on these small buses is limited, wheelchair guests should advise the Destination Services Desk in advance so that space can be set aside for the wheelchair. Light weight, casual clothing; a hat; sunglasses; sunscreen, insect repellant and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested. Guests should bring along small denominations of Euros or U.S. dollars for any purchases they may wish to make. The transportation used is the best available in this destination; however, it may not be up to the same standards as found in other parts of the world.
