Take pleasure in two of Singapore's most celebrated landmarks on this discovery of the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Raffles Hotel. The first stop is the remarkable Botanic Gardens, with its superb collection of tropical plant life. Spread over 128 acres, the Gardens hold over 4,000 species of plant life, including many rare specimens. Strolling through this lush tropical park, discover the world's largest orchid collection, featuring over 20,000 plants displayed in a natural setting. Re-boarding the motor coach, drive along Orchard Road, the city's glossy hotel, shopping and entertainment district, before arriving at Raffles, one of the world's most famous hotels. Often described as the quintessence of the grand Oriental hotel, the Raffles roll call of famous guests is impressive: Rudyard Kipling, Herman Hesse, Noel Coward and Charlie Chaplin to name a few. Enjoy time to take in the spectacular surroundings including the Tiffin Room, Palm Garden, Writer's Bar and Long Bar, before enjoying a sumptuous High Tea buffet that includes English canapés, scones and local delicacies. After absorbing the gracious hospitality and legacy of Colonial Singapore, return to the ship.
Please Note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking with minimal climbing and few steps at the attractions. Guests wishing to enter the lobby of the Raffles Hotel need to be properly dressed: no shorts, Bermudas or uncovered shoes are allowed. Entry is at the discretion of the hotel. Tea is served at the Billiard Room where the dress code does not apply.
