Interact with Antigua's Southern Stingrays in their natural environment during this amazing tour.
From the pier, it's a 30-minute transfer to the Stingray City Clubhouse where you will receive a safety briefing and orientation before boarding a boat that will take you out across the translucent blue waters to the Stingray platform. Upon arrival, your Stingray handler will show you the best way to interact with the rays and allow you to pet and feed them if you like. Contrary to the belief that Stingrays are dangerous animals, they are really quite gentle and like attention.
The clear, shallow waters here make it both easy and fun to view the Stingrays as they swim through the waters around you. Some of the less timid might even brush against you, looking for an expected hand-out. Most people who come out to experience the Stingrays in this natural setting, come away with a sense of awe and wonder and find these once feared creatures now have a special place in their heart.
After approximately one-hour in the water here, you will re-board your boat and cruise back to the Stingray City Clubhouse where you can shower and have a short break before transferring back to the cruise ship pier.
Please note: This tour includes limited walking; however, the surface below the water at Stingray City will be sandy and uneven. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and not considered suitable for those with mobility concerns. Guests must be able to enter and exit the boat with limited assistance and there is a ladder to climb between the boat and the water. Those taking part in any water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility. Wear swimwear under a cover-up with flat walking shoes or aqua socks and bring a towel and change of clothes. Sun cap, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended. There are restrooms, showers and changing areas available at the Stingray City Clubhouse. Those wishing to purchase souvenirs or photos of their experience should bring cash or a credit card. Participants must be at least 5 years of age in order to take part in the tour and children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian.
