Explore Cozumel by Jeep and enjoy the scenery on the way to the beach to snorkel and boogie board, followed by an enlightening tour of a tequila factory.

Depart from the pier in an open-top, manual transmission Jeep, an ideal vehicle to capture panoramic views of the island, which is steeped in history. Although the Maya lived on Cozumel, there are few reminders of their civilization; the closest being the stone arch of a temple at El Cedral. Cozumel is now known more for its beaches and snorkeling, and you'll have the opportunity to explore its underwater world at one of the island's most beautiful stretches of sand.

While snorkeling over the coral reefs, you may observe stingrays, sea turtles and countless tropical fish in the crystal-clear waters. You might even see the vibrant blue-and-yellow queen angelfish, a shy species that feeds on sponges. You'll also have the chance to boogie board at a neighboring beach where the waves are more pronounced.

Then, it's on to a tequila hacienda to learn how Mexico's national drink is made from mature agave plants that are 8 to 10 years old. It takes approximately 17 pounds of agave hearts to produce a gallon of tequila through a process of steaming, pulping and fermenting.

Later, on the way to lunch at a local beach club, you'll stop for photos at the Two Cultures Monument, which commemorates the merging of the early Spanish and Mayan cultures. Following a tasty Mexican lunch, you'll drive directly back to the pier.

Please note: Walking on this tour is mainly at the guests' discretion during the stops; however, there are natural, uneven and sandy surfaces to negotiate. The tour of the Tequila hacienda is approximately 30-minutes. This tour is not available to wheelchair guests; pregnant women; those with back, neck, knee or shoulder injuries; heart conditions or mobility issues. Guests with diabetes, asthma or heart conditions must abstain from snorkeling. Light weight clothing; swimwear; a change of clothes; towel; sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. A swimming pool, showers and lounge chairs are available at the beach club. The Jeeps are open air 4-seaters and will be shared with other guests. Participants who are driving must be at least 21 years of age and present a valid drivers' license. The minimum age to participate in the tour is 6 years of age and the maximum age limit is 6 5. Children under 10 years of age will not be permitted to snorkel. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. Those taking part in any water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility. The operator does require that participants sign a waiver before being allowed to take part in the tour. It is suggested guests bring cash if they wish to purchase souvenirs. The order of the sites viewed or visited may vary.
