Enjoy spectacular scenery as you visit the Osorno Volcano area, Petrohue Falls and then stop at a popular resort area.
Your tour begins with a scenic drive to an area called La Burbuja, or "The Bubble", located at approximately 4,000 feet above sea level on the slopes of the majestic, snow-capped Osorno Volcano which reaches a total height of 8,700 feet above sea level . This place is the starting point for those who come to ski on the hillsides of the volcano, and for those who dare climb it. Enjoy some free time here to grab a quick bite to eat and take in the magnificent vistas that allow views of the entire Petrohue Valley.
Continuing on, you will drive to Chile's famous Lake District en route to Petrohue Falls. Along the way, you'll be treated to stunning panoramic views of Lake Llanquihue and valley of Ensenada. These chute-type falls were formed by the descent of the Petrohue River as it pushed through the volcanic rock that was deposited there centuries ago and make for some excellent photo opportunites. Following your stop at the falls, you'll next make your way to the resort community of Puerto Varas, located on the shores of Lake Llanquihue. Here, you will have approximately thirty minutes of free time to browse the small handicraft market or purchase a light snack before it's time to travel back to the ship.
