Enjoy an exhilarating schooner ride over crystal clear waters and later, a stop for swimming and a visit to a 16th century fort.
Boarding your traditional schooner at the pier, you’ll set off on your amazing journey that is filled with sun, sea, and beautiful landscapes. Sailing down the Itajuru Channel, you will have views to charming homes and mansions that are situated on the edge of the canal. In time, you will reach the place where the channel meets Praia do Forte, a beautiful coastal town famous for its white sand beaches.
Stopping off idyllic Papagaio Island, an island that has been turned into a private resort, you’ll have some time to take a swim in the inviting waters or simply relax aboard the schooner and soak up the sun. After approximately 30-minutes, you’ll continue on to Forte São Matheus, a 16th century fort that stands as a sentinel on a rocky outcrop. Originally built to fend off pirates, the fort is now a major tourist attraction in the area.
All too soon, your schooner will make its way back to the Itajuru Channel and the pier in Cabo Frio.
