Experience the pleasures of yoga by participating in a class at a serene resort on the edge of a virgin rainforest, surrounded by mineral-rich, hot springs.
Departing from the pier, you will first enjoy a drive into the picturesque Roseau Valley, home to the Shangri-La Rainforest Resort. Bordering the crystal-clear River Blanc, the resort's grounds are spectacular and feature a 100-foot waterfall, steam geysers and a cave pool fed by bubbling mineral springs.
You can't help but feel relaxed, especially while participating in a yoga class in the open-air, stone-and-bamboo pavilion. Two different, one-hour programs are offered, each with its own benefits. The relaxing "Feel Young with Yoga" class employs a series of rejuvenating poses and breathing techniques to put you in touch with your energy and inner peace. "Partner Yoga" is designed for couples seeking a deeper connection with each other, themselves and nature.
Both programs are suitable for all levels of expertise, including yoga novices. The classes are taught under the direction of Martha Cuffy, a well-known yoga instructor of Dominican heritage. After class, you will have time to enjoy a glass of fresh juice, while taking in the idyllic setting. Then, relaxed yet invigorated, you will drive back to the ship.
Please note: This tour includes limited walking; however, participants must be physically fit enough to both sit down and rise from the floor. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and not considered suitable for those with mobility concerns. Comfortable, loose clothing and flat shoes are recommended.
