This full day tours travel from Montevideo to the lively city of Punta del Este. This famous South American seaside resort is the playground of the regional jet set and a world renowned site of many film festivals and international conferences. Often referred to as the St. Tropez of Uruguay, with its miles of pristine beaches and never-ending variety of things to do, this popular resort destination has become an international favorite. One of the more interesting features of Punta Del Este is that visitors can actually see the sun rise and set in the same waters due to its location on a peninsula that extends into the ocean. The combination of trendy shops, exquisite restaurants, clubs and distinctive architecture, all nestled between a setting of magnificent beaches and pine covered forest, truly differentiates Punta Del Este from other tourist destinations in the world.
Your tour begins with a brief overview of Montevideo before traveling east towards Punta del Este. After a relaxing and scenic two-hour drive, you'll arrive at this exciting city and begin to explore its many attractions. Your first stop will be at Punta Ballena where a wonderful panoramic view of the peninsula spreads out before you. There will be time to take some memorable photos before continuing on.
You'll next make your way to Gorlero Avenue which runs through the heart of the downtown area. Disembarking your coach, you'll have some free to browse the many shops lining the avenue before it's time to re-join your group for lunch. The Soho restaurant (or similar) is where you'll be treated to a delicious meal of international favorites before resuming your tour of Punta del Este.
The afternoon has you following a route that takes you through the lush tree-lined residential districts of San Rafael, Cantegrill and Beverly Hills, where you can see many of the city's beautiful mansions and well-tended private gardens.
