This tour, meant to introduce you to the island, affords you the opportunity to experience a Guernsey cream tea as well as a visit to The Little Chapel and local Goldsmith's.
After boarding your motor coach at the pier, you will proceed to The Little Chapel at Les Vauxbelets. The Little Chapel is thought to be the smallest consecrated church in the world, built as a labor of love by Brother Dodat whose plan was to create a miniature version of the famous grotto and basilica at Lourdes. The Little Chapel is beautifully decorated in mosaics of seashells, pebbles and donated pieces of Wedgewood and Royal Doulton china.
Upon leaving The Little Chapel, you will drive through the charming country lanes of Torteval before stopping to visit the Russell family's authentic Goldsmith's workshop, which is set in five acres of prize-winning landscaped gardens. The modern tree sculpture in the running stream and the little waterfall leading to an ornamental Koi pool all add to the ambience of this idyllic spot. While here, watch artisans at work and admire a variety of their handmade products. In the adjacent Village Pavilion Restaurant, you will be served a delicious Guernsey cream tea.
Back aboard your motor coach, you'll have a lovely drive along the scenic west and north coasts of the island which will offer views of Rocquaine Bay, Vazon Bay, Grandes Rocques and Pembroke Bays before returning to the pier.
Please note: This tour includes approximately 30 minutes of easy walking. There are also approximately 12 steps at the Little Chapel, plus any additional walking at the guests' discretion during free time.
