Delight in a panoramic driving tour through some of the French Riviera’s most naturally beautiful and exclusive coastal areas, including Cap d’Antibes and Nice.
After departing from the pier, you will drive along the palm-fringed boulevard La Croisette. Lined with a Who’s Who of designer boutiques on one side and one of the French Riviera’s most spectacular stretches of sand on the other, La Croisette exudes glamour.
Some of Cannes’ grandest hotels are on the boulevard, including the InterContinental Carlton Cannes, where Alfred Hitchcock filmed “To Catch a Thief,” the 1955 movie starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. The French government lists the hotel as a National Historic Building.
Continuing along a coastal route, you will soon arrive in Juan-les-Pins, a quintessential Mediterranean town with seaside ramparts and more glorious beaches. It’s a wonderful introduction to the Cap d’Antibes peninsula, an exclusive hideaway for the rich and famous that has included Ernest Hemingway, Claude Monet and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
Then, it’s on to Nice, which you will enter along the Promenade des Anglais. It’s lined with elegant hotels such as the legendary Negresco, sidewalk cafés and miles of exclusive beach. Afterwards, you will drive back to the pier in Cannes via a different route, stopping at the Franciscan gardens for some free time before reaching the pier.
Please note: This tour is mainly panoramic in nature and any walking is primarily at the guests’ discretion during the stops and free time. There are some uneven surfaces to negotiate at the Franciscan gardens. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun glasses; a bottle of water from the ship; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
