Wine lovers won't want to miss this tour that visit a local winery on the Island and introduces you to several different varieties of local wines.
A 30-minute drive from the pier brings you to the green hills of San Mateo, the location of the Sa Cova winery. This wonderful winery that covers over 22 acres, both grows its own grapes and produces its own wine and was a pioneer in the commercialization of Ibiza's wines. The first to grow grapes on the island were the Phoenicians and along with the traditional varietals such as Monastrell and Malvasia, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo, Merlot and Syrah are grown here as well.
Upon arrival, you will have a guided tour of the winery, where modern production techniques and high ecological standards are teamed with traditional methods and aging processes to produce wonderful wines from barrels made of American and French oak. In the bodega, you will hear an explanation of the production and blending process responsible for producing the quality wines Sa Cova is known for. At the conclusion of your guided tour, you will enjoy a tasting of several different wines, paired with a typical Ibizan snack such as local bread, aioli, sausage, local cheese and ham.
Following your approximately 2-hour visit, you will rejoin your coach and make your way to Santa Gertrudis, a charming village where you will have the opportunity to take some photos or do some shopping in the small town center. Afterwards, you'll transfer directly back to the pier.
