Explore Palma's rich contemporary art tradition, including the modernist works of Joan Miró and earlier paintings and sculpture that were inspired by the light and atmosphere of the island.

Begin your gallery walk with a visit to the Casal Solleri, a Baroque building dating from 1763. This stunning building, also known as Can Morell, was acquired by the Palma City Council in 1975 and is used for visiting art exhibitions and cultural events.

Next, you will see the turn-of-the-century Grand Hotel, designed by Catalan Modernist architect Lluis Domenech y Montaner. Then, step inside the Es Baluard Museum, Palma's esteemed Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. This fascinating facility was built using the Renaissance façade of the ancient San Pedro Fortress, located in the heart of Palma. The building symbolizes the lifestyle of the Mediterranean by including the external spaces as part of the museum enclosure, establishing a natural flow between the indoors and outdoors. It represents a unique architectural and art experience all in one location.
