Drive to the affluent resort town of St. Raphael and then follow the spectacularly scenic Golden Corniche roadway to legendary Cannes, where you will enjoy hours of free time.
Depart from the pier and drive south, reveling in the lovely scenery on the way to seaside St. Raphael. First popular in Roman times as a resort for the wealthy, the town remains one of the most desirable, affluent settings on the French Riviera.
After a short stop in St. Raphael, you will loop back toward Cannes, driving along the breathtaking Golden Corniche. Opened in 1903, the highway follows the coast, offering incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea. The most dramatic stretch is through the sparsely developed area between Anthéor and Théoule-sur-Mer.
Arriving in Cannes, you will have more than two hours of free time to explore at your leisure. If you’re a film aficionado, you might stroll around the Palais des Festivals, where the famed Cannes Film Festival is held annually. In the pavement outside, you will find celebrity handprints of movie stars that include Sophia Loren, Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep.
If shopping is your intention, few boulevards are more renowned than La Croisette, which faces the sea. The world’s most prestigious fashion designers are well represented here in one boutique after another. The nearby Rue d’Antibes offers another high-end shopping experience, but with a different selection of merchandise. Following your free time, you will rejoin your coach for the drive back to Antibes, along another panoramic route.
Please note: Walking on this tour is primarily at the guests’ discretion during the stops. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, can make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Weather appropriate clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; a bottle of water from the ship; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The tour sequence may vary.
