Experience Rome's splendid historic beauty and architecture during this orientation tour of Rome that has been specially-designed for guests with walking difficulties.
Depart the pier for the drive into Rome. Upon arrival, you will pass by the Vatican walls that delineate the area of Vatican City, Lungotevere and the Ara Pacis. You will then pass by the Roman Walls, or Muro Torto, and the Villa Borghese before entering the Old Town near Porta Pinciana.
Next, you will see many beautiful and historic sites that include Via Vittorio Veneto, the symbol of the Italian dolce vita, the white marble Victor Emmanuel II Monument, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus and finally, St. Peter's Basilica. Some time will then be made available to visit St. Peter's Basilica independently, or browse the area's shops before returning to your coach for the return drive to the pier.
Please note: Some free time at your leisure will be provided around the Basilica in Vatican City. During this time, you will not have the services of a guide, and the amount of walking you do will be at your discretion. Please be advised that the Basilica might be closed at times for security reasons. Guests will be required to wear conservative attire covering the knees and shoulders for the visit inside the Basilica. Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes.
